About Kick for Dana-Farber

Q: What is Kick for Dana-Farber?
A: Kick for Dana-Farber is a program where soccer teams raise vital funds for cancer care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Soccer teams can raise money in their community through bake sales, car washes, and other fun activities and win great prizes such as unique experiences with the New England Revolution, soccer camps and clinics, clothing and accessories, and more! All proceeds are due to Dana-Farber by December 14, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. EST to be eligible for prizes. We will continue to collect gifts for the fall season until January 31, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Q: Why should I join Kick for Dana-Farber?
A: When you participate, you help further cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute while learning the importance of philanthropy and volunteerism, and provide hope to adults and children being treated for cancer worldwide. There is no cost to register and no fundraising minimum. With every bit you fundraise, you will be entered in to win prizes.

About Participating in Kick for Dana-Farber

Q: Who can participate in Kick for Dana-Farber?
A: Any soccer player, soccer coach, or team parent can participate in Kick for Dana-Farber! You can start a team at your school, youth league, club organization, or a group of friends. You can also search for existing teams by using the Find a Team link.

Q: I want to participate in Kick for Dana-Farber, but I’m not on a soccer team. Is this allowed?
A: Absolutely. You can Join as an Individual, select the "Give" option to make a contribution to the program, or you may also choose to Sponsor a Participant.

Q: How will I be notified when someone joins my Kick for Dana-Farber team by registering online?
A: You can quickly review your team participants by visiting your team page and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Each team member will be listed under “Team Members” and will have links to their personal fundraising pages. You will also receive notifications via email each time someone joins your team. We find that teams with 10 or more personalized pages raise twice the amount of money. So encourage your players to personalize their page!

Q: Can my club or school have multiple Kick Teams?
A: Yes, your club or school can have as many Kick teams as it wants. However, each team is considered separate when prizes are distributed at the end of the program. Each team should limit their teams to 25 players per team. If you have further questions about team size please email

About Fundraising

Q: How does my individual fundraising page work?
A: Each participant has the option to use their individual fundraising page, if he or she wishes to ask friends and family to support the team's goal. When registering, each participant will have the ability to create their own personal fundraising goal. The goal is not required; each individual participant can choose to forgo this feature. We find that teams with 10 or more personalized pages raise twice the amount of money. So encourage your players to personalize their page!

Q: When does Kick for Dana-Farber fundraising end?
A: To qualify for prizes, all gifts must be received by Dana-Farber by Friday, December 14, 2018, at 5:00 p.m. EST.

Though they will not count towards prizes, additional funds will be accepted (and encouraged!) until January 31, 2019.

Q: How is the money collected?
A: Funds can be collected three ways:
  • Through your team's online fundraising page at When people join your team at, they will receive an individual fundraising page. All funds raised on individual pages will count toward the team's total.
  • Cashier's check or money order—we cannot accept cash gifts
  • Checks made payable to "Dana-Farber Cancer Institute"

Q: How can I spread the word about Kick for Dana-Farber using social media?
A: Post photos on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #KickForDanaFarber of your team at fundraising events or games at your events. Tag your teammates to spread the word even more!

Q: What are matching gifts?
A: Many corporations sponsor matching gift programs, where they match gifts dollar for dollar and sometimes double or triple match these gifts. Please ask your company’s administrator if they have such a program.

Q: My workplace has a matching gift program. Can my team utilize this resource?
A: Yes, once the gift is made via online, check, or money order to Kick for Dana-Farber, the donor should follow their workplace procedures for securing a matching gift. We recommend reaching out to your HR department or checking if they have an online process. Learn more about matching gifts.
